The 91st Academy Awards are almost upon us! February 24, 2019 at 7PM, is the date and time. I’ll be where I usually am to cover Oscar night, so please follow my blog to stay updated on how everything shakes out!

The 91st Oscars May Not Have a Host, but They Do Have Nominees

Image by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

Months ago, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences tapped comedian/actor Kevin Hart to host the 91st Annual Academy Awards but shortly after that, Hart elected to withdraw from the gig due to controversial and offensive social media posts from years ago were recovered. The fallout from the old tweets culminated in Hart walking away from the opportunity to host the Oscars and though efforts to reinstate Hart as host were made over the last few weeks, Hart is effectively OUT as host.

So where does that leave the Oscars now? Well, we’re in a spot that hasn’t been seen since 1989 because it looks like there isn’t going to be a host for the 91st Oscars come February 24th. I’d like to think they tried to find a suitable replacement for Hart but with the ceremony so close, no one could effectively step in and put their personal stamp on the show, so I suppose that is where we’re going.

There may not be a host, but today the mystery of who has been nominated is solved. If you’ve followed my blog for this long, you know that I emphasize on 18 categories and those categories are:
