The 88th Academy Awards are a few months away and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are underway in determining what film should be nominated for what. There have been a few distinguishing features released already, but the best may be on the way and come Oscar night, the best will be recognized and rewarded for their accomplishments. When it comes to the Oscars, there must always be a Master of Ceremonies to bring some levity to such a prestigious night. Two years ago, Ellen returned to host and she was an absolute delight. Last year, Neil Patrick Harris took a crack at the Oscars and he wasn’t bad hosting. This year, the Academy has made their choice to host the 88th Academy Awards.
Actor and comedian Chris Rock will return to host the Oscars after a decade hiatus. The last time he hosted the Academy Awards was in 2005. Academy CEO Dawn Hudson is thrilled with the decision to name Chris Rock host of the Oscars.
Chris may be best known as a stand-up comic, but we think of him as a creative innovator in many other ways. He is unafraid in his artistry. We couldn’t be happier to welcome him back to the Oscars.
Even Neil Patrick Harris believes Chris Rock will do a fantastic job.
The 88th Academy Awards will be televised on ABC on February 28, 2016.
