Oscar winner Forest Whitaker joins Star Wars Anthology

Just when I thought my excitement for the first installment of the Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One could not climb higher…The film has a fascinating plot: it’s a heist movie, set between Star Wars Episodes III & IV, where a rebel cell attempts to steal the battle plans for the original Death Star. Rogue One has a very capable director in Gareth Edwards and a strong cast including Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn. Now that cast has grown stronger because of a very compelling actor joining the picture: Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker.

Whitaker is a top actor in my eyes. He was a force of nature in his Oscar winning turn as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland, I thought he was outstanding in The Butler, he is just so thoroughly talented and I think this was a steal for the Star Wars franchise. I cannot wait until this movie arrives in theaters on December 16, 2016.
