Tomorrow morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts Sciences will announce their nominees for the 87th Academy Awards. The major players of Hollywood will honor the finest cinematic achievements of 2014 on February 22, 2015 with Neil Patrick Harris hosting the Oscars. Rest assured, I will monitor who will be nominated and (hopefully) I will have seen all of the nominees for Best Picture before Oscar Night and will probably post my Oscar nominations sometime in the near future.
Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today that actor Chris Pine, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, and directors Alfonso Cuarón and J.J. Abrams, on Thursday, January 15, 2015 will announce the nominations in all 24 Oscar categories at a special two-part live news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills
The news conference will (hopefully) be covered on ABC and (definitely) on a live YouTube stream starting at 8:30 AM.
Tomorrow night, is one of my favorite ceremonies: The Critics Choice Awards. Film critics deciding what movies mark the pinnacle of the past year? No way I’m missing that! The Broadcast Film Critics Association have had this knack of determining who might go home happy on Oscar night, so I’ll be covering that no doubt. It should be interesting to see how well Michael Strahan does hosting an event like this. The 20th Critics Choice Awards will begin tomorrow evening at 9:00 PM on A&E.
