At the conclusion of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” the Green Goblin was making plans to assemble a small team for some nefarious reason and now that team is going to be featured in a spin-off, that has just been recently confirmed for a release date. This film has been cooking for a while now, with Drew Goddard attached as writer and director.
“The Sinister Six,” has been given the green light for production and plans to arrive in theaters on November 11, 2016. The film plans to bring six of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies together in their own feature length motion picture, then set them upon Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man (potentially) in “The Amazing Spider-Man 3,” which has been pushed back to 2018. Though the cast of the six is unknown and unconfirmed, the rebooted Spider-Man franchise has touted Paul Giamatti as The Rhino, Dane Dehaan as the Green Goblin, inserted a couple of teasers regarding the characters Doctor Octopus and Vulture and rumors are circulating that rounding out the team of super-villains are Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. Avi Arad and Matt Tomlach will be attached as producers for the 2016 blockbuster.
