Humanity has been challenged as the dominant species of the Earth and in a four year period, they have not answered said challenge. A new species has risen to rival mankind during this four year period and they are led by a formidible figure. This species rose to power after their stand on the Golden Gate bridge and while they have flourished, mankind’s numbers have dwindled. With humanity backed into a corner, their only hope is to convince the simian syndicate leader, Caesar, that a peace can be achieved and maintained between humans and apes, but not everyone is ready to hold hands. The age of humanity seems to be drawing to a close while the “Dawn of the Planet of Apes” has begun.
This sequel to “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” stars Andy Serkis as Caesar, but Matt Reeves takes the reigns as director with the story written by Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Mark Bomback. The film also stars Gary Oldman, Judi Greer, Jason Clarke, Toby Kebbell and Kodi Smidt-McPhee. “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” arrives in theaters on July 11, 2014.
