The “Days of Future Past” have never looked darker

Mutant-kind has never faced a greater threat to their survival in the new trailer for the upcoming superhero adventure, “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” In this new trailer, the only futuristic outcome for mutants is extinction at the hands machines called Sentinels. The only hope for the survival of the mutant race, lies in the past. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen reprise their roles as Professor X and Magneto, and together, they pool their respective forces together in order for their plan to end their war with the Sentinels before blood is shed. The plan: transport the consciousness of Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, back in time, reunite the younger Professor X and Magneto, played by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, and stop Bolivar Trask, played by Peter Dinklage, from initiating his Sentinel Program.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is directed by Brian Singer, with the screenplay written by Simon Kinberg. The film also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, Ellen Page, Evan Peters, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Bingbing Fan, Daniel Cudmore and Adan Canto. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” will be in theaters on May 23, 2014.
