Transformers: Retired, rebooted and reborn

Michael Bay has been commanded to breathe new life into his “Transformers” film franchise and he has come up with taking his franchise into a new age. After the events of the previous installment, Bay has decided to introduce an entirely new cast of characters starting with Mark Wahlberg’s character, a mechanic and single dad named Cade Yeager. Yeager makes a living for himself and his daughter Tessa, played by Nicola Peltz, off wrecks and scrap heaps but one day an antiquated yet bullet-ridden truck is towed into his garage and Yeager quickly surmises that this old junker is more than meets the eye. Shortly after, their lives are turned upside down and a new danger emerges that calls Optimus Prime and his army of Autobots into action once more. Michael Bay has just released the trailer to his new film “Transformers: Age of Extinction,” featuring explosions, visual effects and Predacons.

With a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger, the sequel also stars Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Bingbing Li. “Transformers: Age of Extinction” will explode into theaters on June 27, 2014.
