Marvel’s “Avengers Initiative” is well into Phase 2, which leads Earth’s mightiest heroes against the sinister automaton, Ultron. Marvel is taking the initiative to make plans for Phase 3, which includes the character known as Hank Pym, a.k.a Ant-Man. Today, sources have confirmed that the size-shifting super hero, will be played by Paul Rudd. Rudd is known as a veteran comedian who is known for roles such as “Role Models,” “Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Wanderlust” and “The 40 Year Old Virgin.”
In Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man” Rudd will be playing the role of Hank Pym, a biophysicist who discovers a new variation of particles that can be used to alter one’s size and invents a helmet to communicate with ants. In the comics, Pym would ultimately be known as the creator of Ultron, but Pym’s character will not be present in “The Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
“Ant-Man” will be directed and written by Edgar Wright and will be ready for release in May 2015.
