The Man of Steel and the Dark Knight…COLLIDE!!!

BREAKING NEWS FROM COMIC CON: Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder have made a groundbreaking announcement from Comic Con today. Weeks after Zack Snyder confirmed that his successful summer blockbuster “Man of Steel,” has been given the green light for a sequel, he and Harry Lennix, who played General Swanson in Snyder’s film, brought Hall H at Comic Con to fever pitch when they gave the audience a small but powerful tidbit at what awaits Superman, in his latest big screen adventure. Snyder introduced Lennix to recite some lines from a possible script for the sequel.

“I want you to remember Clark, for all the years to come and all your most private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember the one man who beat you.”

It was after Lennix recited this passage an image appeared that incited thunderous applause and anticipation for “Man of Steel 2.”

Movie history will be made with this Superman/Batman big-screen collaboration

Yes movie fans. The Caped Crusader and the Last Son of Krypton together, on the big screen, in a live-action major-motion picture, for the first time ever. It isn’t Justice League, but it is certainly a step in the right direction as DC Comics attempt to capture the power Marvel has set with “The Avengers” as two of DCs most iconic characters unite in some capacity. “Man of Steel 2” has yet to set a release date and aside from Henry Cavill and Amy Adams, and possibly Henry Lennix, it is unclear as to who will star in the film, what the story will be, who the villain will be or whether they will take Batman in a new direction or borrow from Christopher Nolan’s universe and pick up where his “Dark Knight” trilogy left off.

Nevertheless, this…is…HUGE!!!

Update: “Man of Steel 2” is set for a 2015 release date and according to producer Emma Thomas, who produced Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy, the plan is to cast an entirely new Batman, for Christian Bale has no intention of reprising his role of Batman. So Zack Snyder and David S. Goyer now have to create an entirely new Batman for a new actor to bring to life. Also, Lawrence Fishburne and Diane Lane will return to the franchise.
