Yippee-ki-yay moviegoers, John McClaine is back. The fifth installment of the “Die Hard” franchise, titled “A Good Day to Die Hard,” takes Bruce Willis’ iconic action character to Moscow where he finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, as usual. McClain finds himself in the middle of a threat against the Russian government involving a whistleblower who is attracting the wrong type of attention. McClain is compelled to defend this Russian government whistleblower for the most surprising reason: McClain’s estranged son Jack, played by Jai Courtney, is an undercover CIA operative assigned to protect the whistleblower and eliminate a potentially dangerous threat to the region.
What am I expecting to see?: This installment looks to be an intense and as hard-hitting as “Die Hard” can get. I’m expecting another solid addition to a very well-done and iconic action franchise. I’m expecting Bruce Willis to fire on all cylinders as John McClaine once again and new addition Jai Courtney to deliver a promising performance as John’s son. Director John Moore seems to know what he is doing at the helm of this latest “Die Hard” installment. This movie looks to be the ultimate atypical Valentine’s Day flick and I hope it lives up to the hype. I’m expecting “A Good Day to Die Hard,” to be a very good way to spend a day at the movies.
